NEWS from the PEWS! Cecil and Betty Smith spent their 65th wedding anniversary last Thursday in their beautiful home filled with Betty's quilts and Cecil's woodworking (with the bees in their hives not far away), quietly reminiscing about how they met in their sophomore or junior year of their High School in Cleveland, Oklahoma. They ultimately decided to marry before worship on Sunday. After their wedding ceremony, they went to worship at First Presbyterian Church. And at 5:00 that afternoon, they heard the news that Pearl Harbor had been bombed. What a way to start a marriage!
Poinsettias Once again the season is upon us! Poinsettias are lovely additions to our sanctuary during the holiday season. The poinsettias are a wonderful way to honor or remember your loved ones. The poinsettias will remain in place through Epiphany, January 6th. Please complete and submit this form to the church office or place in the offering plate on Sunday. Donations of $10 may be made to St. Andrew’s. Please designate “Poinsettias” on your checks. The deadline is Sunday, December 17th.

Hall of Trees Continues If you have not yet visited St. Andrew's Hall of Trees, please make plans to do so soon. If you have already visited, you may want to do so again as certain displays change periodically. In addition to representing the various groups of our church and their many outreach programs, there are even some displays that are interactive. There is an "angel tree" that is offering opportunities to help make the holidays happier for a family in need. The Youth Group tree is decorated with "tree-minders" to help you remember to purchase gloves, mittens, etc. and bring back to re-decorate the tree before all the "ornaments" are donated to Emergency Infant Services. The Program Team would like to thank all those committee members, group representatives and other volunteers that helped make this an exceptional display. A special thanks goes to Joey Ross, C.J. Griffith, Elaina Ross and Dan Call for gathering and assembling the forest of trees.
Music Sunday at St. Andrew's The next installment of the Jesse Tree presented by St. Andrew's Singers will be part of worship Sunday, December 17. In addition, the Sanctuary Choir will share more beautiful music of the season with their cantata, Come to the Manger. Please plan to join us for this special presentation and don't forget to invite friends and family as "friendship Sundays" continue at St. Andrew's. Later in the afternoon, everyone is invited to our annual Caroling Party as we visit members and friends unable to get to worship. We will meet at Yale Avenue Presbyterian Church at 3:30 pm for a "warm-up" and then hit the road, singing all the way! If anyone has names of those desiring a group of friendly folk, please give Dan Call a call so we can plan our travel.
DEACONS NEWS PLACE YOUR ORDERS for Coffee/Tea/Chocolate GIFT BASKETS by December 17, if possible. Call Diana Henderson or Richard Wilson soon, so we can give Valerie Parker plenty of time to work her creative magic. If you have not yet selected your ANGEL CARD from the Waite Phillips Tree, do so this Sunday. Those GIFTS (unwrapped) for the Deacon's adopted family must be delivered to Beverly Clark by Tuesday, December 19.
Thank you Secret Santa for the Black & Decker drill and flashlight set. Our Property Team is most grateful.
If you have to miss worship on any given Sunday, you can find both the bulletin and the sermon on the web. Webmaster, Emerson Parker, adds them to our website each week, and adds The Shield on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month. Our address is www.standrewstulsa.org.
