“MARINERS NEWS”
BATTER UP! May 19th
is the next Fireworks Night for Tulsa Driller's Baseball. Mariners
will be attending that game to watch Tulsa play Springfield. Those
planning to join us contact Diana Henderson. Remember, Game Time is
7:05.PM … See you there!!
Mariners really enjoyed
attending the mello-drama "The Drunkard" and the subsequent Oleo variety
show last Saturday night. Although the show has been a staple on the
Tulsa scene for many years, there were still a few who had never seen it.

Southminster, St.
Andrew’s and St. Giles
Exploratory Committee
Update
From April 15, 2007 Meeting
Representatives from our three congregations continue to meet regularly in
order to discern direction for our future together. We each have grown
to believe that we can better serve God if our congregations are together
than if we remain separate.
Members of the Exploratory Group want to start building meaningful
relationships with each other’s congregations. To that end, we are
planning to attend each other’s church activities on occasion, and extend
those joint opportunities to our respective members. The three
congregations will begin sharing newsletters by putting them in each other’s
publications. We are seeking to meet each other face-to-face, so we
can better envision our coming together. Also, this will help us
identify any areas that may need our attention.
The
committee set some target dates at this meeting. We plan for St. Giles
to start meeting at Southminster beginning June
10th. Their worship is at 5pm and will most likely take
place in the Southminster Fellowship Hall.
St. Andrew’s members hope to begin their “crossover” in mid-August, pending
Session approval all around. These goals have been set giving
consideration to the school year calendar as well as the committee’s
anticipated ability to work out the logistical details between now and then.
The
committee members have been asked to write down their individual visions as
to what we (St. Andrew’s, St. Giles and Southminster)
want to look like by September 2007. We will share those “snap shots”
of the future with each other at our next meeting to help us picture where
we each see ourselves. That will allow us to identify what steps will
be required to make that happen. The
committee
will meet again on April 29 at 1:00pm at Southminster
to consolidate these ideas as we develop one vision for our shared future
and plans to make that journey.
