BRINGING THE LIGHT OF CHRIST INTO THIS ROOM

*CALL TO WORSHIP

ALL:  (Hymn 138, verse 1)  Holy, holy, holy!  Lord God Almighty!  Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee; Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty!  God in three Persons, blessed Trinity.

ONE:  O give thanks to God for all the goodness we know!  Gold's steadfast love endures forever!

ALL:  We come from all corners of the earth to give God thanks and praise!

ONE:  Once we were a wandering people, hungry and thirsty in a desert land.  God led us to a new land rich in promise and harvest.

Almighty and everlasting God, it is Your will to restore all of creation in Your Son.  Yet we know that we are divided by hostility and enslaved by sin.  Free us once again, and bring us together under his gentle and loving rule, so the world will know we are Christian by our love.

In life and in death we belong to God.  Through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, we trust in the one triune God, the Holy One of Israel, whom alone we worship and serve.  We trust in Jesus Christ, fully human, fully God, [who] proclaimed the reign of God.  We trust in God, whom Jesus called Abba, Father.  In sovereign love God created the world good and makes everyone equally in God’s image.  We trust in the Holy Spirit, everywhere the giver and renewer of life.  With believers in every time and place, we rejoice that nothing in life or in death can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
